A cancer diagnosis is life altering, that's for sure. It changes the way you think about yourself and the way the world sees you. But it doesn't have to be life threatening all the time. Your experience may not be the same as that of your friend, your colleague, or anyone else on the Internet.
I get asked all the time, "Am I going to die from this cancer?" It really depends on the situation. Certainly, there are cancers that are lethal, but often our treatments these days are much better and cure a lot more cancers than we did in the past.
Again, your experience is not the same as everyone else's experience. Your diagnosis is unique. So don't compare your diagnosis to someone else's. Everyone's treatment and everyone's cancer is different.
